Fender Champion 600 5-Watt 1×6″ Guitar Combo

Just picked up a 2007 Fender Champion 600 5-Watt 1×6″ Guitar Combo. Mint condition. Looks brand new. Amazing condition for a 17 year old amplifier, and a testament to taking good care of nice gear. I’m looking forward to exploring its tone and finding the sweet spot. It’s a pretty simple set up, but that’s fine given it takes a pedal rig very well and my pedals have all I need for effects.

The first electric guitar amplifier I ever bought was a Fender Champ 12. I picked it up used from the old Black Market Music shop (now long gone) that used to be over on Folsom street in San Francisco. This was probably back around 1993 and I think I probably paid about $400 for it. It wasn’t one of the old ones from the 60’s (that are now highly sought after and cherished) but an 80’s version, with the distinctive red knobs. I absolutely loved that little amp. Long story about why I no longer have it but I’ve missed it. So I picked up this model to satisfy my Champ cravings without breaking the bank.

Produced by Fender for only 5 years between 2007 and 2012, the collectable Fender Champion 600 reissue is a sweet little 5 watt tube combo amp with a cool retro 50’s style. Simple as can be with just a volume control, you can plug into the high-gain input and goose up the volume for dreamy, creamy overdrive tones, or tap into the low-gain jack to hear the Champion 600 clean up nicely. A single 6″ speaker is stellar for studio recording, and the Champion 600 also makes a great solo practice amp.

I plugged my Telecaster into this little bad boy and man, it sounded so sweet. Just righteous tube tone from one of the cutest, most stylish amps I’ve ever seen. And the volume goes to 12!
